About LiveBarefoot.fyi
Our Mission
LiveBarefoot.fyi is a community-driven directory of barefoot-friendly businesses and locations. Our goal is to make it easy to find places where you can shop, dine, and explore without shoes — whether you choose to be barefoot for health, comfort, or personal freedom.
We believe that barefoot-friendly spaces should be easy to find, and that businesses who welcome barefoot patrons deserve recognition.
How the Rating System Works
A 1-5 scale averaging all community reports. 1 toe means a poor barefoot experience, 5 toes means excellent barefoot hospitality.
Each report includes a simple Yes / Sometimes / No to indicate whether the location is fundamentally barefoot-friendly. The most common answer is shown on business listings.
Reporters can note specific situations where the barefoot policy differs — for example, a chain store that allows barefoot in most locations but has a strict manager at one branch.
How to Contribute
- Create a free account and verify your email.
- Submit a business or corporation that you know is barefoot-friendly (or not!).
- Write a report describing your experience — rate it, note whether barefoot is welcome, and share any edge cases.
- Flag outdated or incorrect information to help keep the directory accurate.
FAQ
Is it legal to be barefoot in public?
Laws vary by location. In most places, being barefoot in public is not illegal, though individual businesses can enforce their own dress codes. We encourage checking local regulations.
How do I know if a business is still barefoot-friendly?
Reports are timestamped and we encourage fresh reports. If a report is over a year old, consider submitting an update. You can also flag outdated information.
Can I add a business that is NOT barefoot-friendly?
Yes! Negative reports help the community avoid wasting time. We encourage honest reporting regardless of the outcome.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. The site is mobile-friendly and works well in any browser.
